  • AH Savage has been quite an elusive figure in terms of research for football historians (but not the most elusive q.v. Alf Harvey). Generally accepted as Arthur Henry Patrick Savage born in Australia (some reports state his initials as AHP). One reputed source claims he wrote in the Sydney Morning Herald of his solitory appearance but we have been unable to corroborate this. He reputedly was "big and red-bearded". Whoever he was he didn't have a great experience in his only international, shipping 3 goals to Scotland.
