Azərbaycan Futbol Federasiyaları Assosiasiyası
- Despite playing its first friendly matches against Georgia and Armenia in 1927 as an independent nation it wasn't until the break-up of the Soviet Union did they gain any kind of self-governance.
The Azerbaijani Football Association was set-up in 1991 and they have participated in every qualifying campaign for the World Cup and European Championships since 1996 albeit without success.
They normally play their home games at the Tofig Bakhramov Stadium which is named after the linesman who controversially gave England their third goal during the 1966 World Cup Final.
