  • Notes: EH Greenhalgh joined Notts County in 1867 and immediately improved the team. He was made captain soon afterwards. It is difficult to assertain which name he preferred to use. Certificates and census transcripts he is recorded as Ernest Harwood, Harwood Ernest, Harwood, Ernest H and E Harwood. Proprietor of the Field Mill in Mansfield where the company's Mechanics team played. It is now the home of Mansfield Town and still bears the name.
