- Hargreaves along with his brother John attended Malvern College, and joined Blackburn Rovers where they were FA Cup runners-up in 1882. He and his brother also played on the same team against Wales in 1881. Hargreaves has one first-class cricket appearance for Malvern against Derbyshire. Sadly, it wasn't a memorable moment as he was dismissed for a duck.
