- One of five footballing brothers, three of whom won England caps. Their father was William Samuel Bambridge who was a schoolmaster at Eton, missionary to New Zealand and most famously Royal Photographer to Queen Victoria. One of the brothers, George, was personal secretary to the Duke of Edinburgh.
Ernest Henry represented Swifts East Sheen and Corinthians. He, like his brother Charlie, served on the FA Committee 1876-82 and was one of the original Corithinan's committee in 1882. He was a member of the London Stock Exchange.
