"...Gadocha sped towards goal, but as Hughes was drawn to the tackle the winger cooly laid it inside to where Lato and Domarski were alone. The pass found Domarski who wasted no time in hitting a wicked, low shot which decieved Peter Shilton and flew under the goalkeeper's dive."Jan Domarski, 57' 56:34

Notes
England fail to qualifyDespite injuring his hand in the first minute (0:48) saving the ball from the feet of Clarke, and being called a 'clown' on TV by Brian Clough, Jan Tomaszewski is inspired between the sticks and keeps England out, almost single-handedly, all night - making at least eleven crucial saves - the only shot he fails to stop is the penalty. England fail to qualify for the World Cup '74 finishing second behind Poland. Ramsey is allowed to continue as manager but there are plots in the FA and Fleet Street to oust him. Six months and two games later after a defeat to Italy and a draw in Portugal the knives are unsheathed and he is sacked.
Goal DisallowedEngland have the ball in the net for an equaliser within a minute but the referee had already blown for a foul by Clarke on Bulzacki.
