Notes:
Archie's youth career started at Aldershot North End, South Farnborough and Camberley St Michael's before joining Southern League Champions Southampton in 1899. After three seasons on the south coast he moved to Derby County in May 1902 and then on to Newcastle United the following season and Tottenham Hotspur the season after that. However, he couldn't hold down regular places and return to Southampton in 1904 for a final season before retiring at the age of 28 to work in his father's ironmonger store in Farnborough.
N.B. His birth date given is his baptism date. We suspect his actual birth date to be a few weeks previous.
