Notes:
Green went to Winchester college where he played cricket and football before studying at New College, Oxford, graduating in 1874. A FA Cup winner with Oxford University (1874) and twice with Wanderers (1877 & 1878). A barrister by profession, he was called to the bar at Inner Temple in 1877 and Inspector of Schools in 1880.
