Edward Lyttelton (23rd July 1855 - 26th January 1942) was an international footballer who represented England 1 time scoring 0 goals. His only cap was against Scotland on 2nd March 1878 at the age of 22. Lyttelton, born on 23rd July 1855, in Westminster, London, has a FA Legacy Number of 51 and played as a Full Back for his country.

Eleventh child and 7th son of George William Lyttelton, 4th Lord Lyttelton, Baron of Frankley. The Lytteltons were a sporting dynasty with six brothers playing first-class cricket and three playing football. Edward was educated at Eton College and then up to Trinty College, Cambridge. He played 57 first-class cricket matches for Cambridge University (1875-1878) and Middlesex (1878-1882). He was an FA Cup runner-up in 1876 with Old Etonians but was representing Cambridge University when he was capped for England. Professionally he was master of Haileybury College in 1890, where he remained until 1905 when he became headmaster of Eton College 1905-16 and was rector at Sidestrand in Norfolk from 1918-20 and then dean of Whitelands College, Chelsea. He was appointed to the position of honorary canon at Norwich in 1931–1941 and during the last year of his life honorary canon at Lincoln.
