  • Sweden played their inaugural international in 1908 beating Norway by eleven goals to three. They made their first appearance in the World Cup in 1934 and reached the final on home soil in 1958 where they were beaten by Brazil and the seventeen-year-old Pele. They used to hold one of the longest records against England having not been defeated for 43 years until a 1-0 victory by the Three Lions at Wembley in 2011. This was followed by the first competitive victory in nine attempts during Euro 2012. However, before a year was out England played their third game against Sweden to inaugurate the new Friends Arena in Stockholm. Zlatan Ibrahimović scored four goals as Sweden ran out 4-2 winners.
