Jimmy Crabtree (23rd December 1871 - 18th June 1908) was an international footballer who represented England 14 times scoring 0 goals. His first cap was against Ireland on 3rd March 1894 at 22 years old, and his last was vs Wales on 3rd March 1902 aged 30. Notes:
Versatile player who played in all positions at the back for England bar goalkeeper. Started his career at Burnley Royal Swifts in 1885 and Rossendale and Heywood Central in 1890 and 1981 respectively before getting regular playing time at Burnley. During this time he was capped on three occasions before a £250 move to Aston Villa in August 1895. There he stayed for nine seasons - three as Football League champions - along with one FA Cup win in 1897 and a further eleven caps. In January 1904 he moved to Plymouth Argyle but had to retire soon afterwards due to injury. Died at his home in Aston at an early age of 36.
