Henry Wace (21st September 1853 - 5th November 1947) was an international footballer who represented England 3 times scoring 1 goal. His first cap was against Scotland on 2nd March 1878 at 24 years old, and his last was vs Scotland on 5th April 1879 aged 25. Wace, born on 21st September 1853, in Shrewsbury, has a FA Legacy Number of 55 and played as a Forward and
Centre Forward for his country.
Notes:
An FA Cup winner twice with Wanderers in 1877 and 1878. Whilst at Cambridge he won some notable academic awards such as the Porson Prize three times, the Powis medal twice and the 1st chancellor's medal. He was called to the bar at Inner Temple in November 1879 and became the foremost expert on Bankruptcy Law. He also played for Clapham Rovers and Shropshire Wanderers.
